Snow moved through the forest and went through Echiel Town and across Kalteen Cross. He kept completely focused on his destination. When he finally reached Anzug, he looked around the small town and took note of what was there. On the edge of the town was a fisherman's hut and further in he saw a Pokemon Center; however, what caught his attention was some boats and rocking planks in the distance close to the center of town. From the looks of it, not to far from the place where the rocking planks were was the gym. Snow made his way towards it.
Once he got to the shifting planks and looked across them at the gym, he felt the anger in him rise a bit. The last thing he wanted was to be tested by having to balance himself. He looked down the twist and turns of the planks and then at the boats. All seemed clear. Focusing on his destination, he took a step onto the shaky plank. He swayed slightly, but caught his balance and didn't fall. Gritting his teeth slightly in agitation, he began to make his way across the planks.
Yoshiko sat on her trainer's shoulders, holding on tighter as he began to cross the planks. As they moved further out onto the wobbly platforms, she began to worry. Her trianer knew how to swim well so she wasn't worried about him drowning, she was worried about herself. She could not swim and the last thing she wanted was to fall off her trainer's shoulder into the water. With him being so angry and only getting more agitated as he wobbled his way across the planks, Yoshiko had feeling that if she fell off into the water beneath them she would--
The plank under them, shifted violently as it got cuaght in a rough current from the river causing Snow to loses his balance and fall onto his hands and knees. The impact from the fall threw Yoshiko off his shoulder and she fell into the water between the shifting planks. She began to panic as water closed in around her. She was going to die. Just as she thought her end was near, she felt something grab her firmly around her body. Thinking it was some type of horrible monster, she began to struggle against whatever had her. Then she felt the chill of air against her body and then warmth.
She stopped struggling and opened her eyes as she trembled against the warmth. She looked around and saw that she was in her trainer's jacket being held securily against his chest as he stood back up dripping from water. She realized that he had saved her. She watched her trainer's face for a moment. Even though, he was furious beyond belief, he had a look underneath the anger that told her he wasn't about to lose her in the process of trying to get to the gym.
She kept trembling from the scare, but her trust in her trainer was reenforced. She would not doubt him again. Closing her eyes, she let hereslf relax as her trainer continued his way across the unsteady planks.
What felt like an eternity of frustration, finally ended when Snow was stepped onto the more stable platform that held the gym. Huffing and puffing from the walk, he looked up at the gym. He remebered some time ago, he had to come to this gym and face the nightmarish planks and then the gym leader with the pokemon that almost beat him. Back then, he had thought he wouldn't make it to the gym let alone pass it.
This time around, he made it across quicker, but the feeling didn't change. Snow sat down on close by the gym's entrance, but out of the way of anyone trying to come in. He leaned back using his arms to support him as he tilted his head towards the sky with his eyes closed.
He sat there for a moment, wondering why he had even come back to the gym. He already had the badge for this gym. He needed to head towards other gyms and get the badges there and also find some more pokemon to add to his collection. As he sat there thinking, he felt something move in his jacket and looked down to see Yoshiko looking up at him with questioning eyes.
He signed to her that he didn't know why he had come here. Yoshiko looked away from him.
"You were angry again. That's why you came here," she said and then looked up at him again. "Do you remember anything before you got angry?"
Snow shook his head at her looking a bit lost as to what she was talking about. Yoshiko sighed inwardly. Her trainer was known for his mood swings, but the loss of memories was getting worse.
At first, the memory lost was small. He would switch moods and then come back around to normal, but he only forgot what he was doing at the moment, but now... Now he was forgetting even larger and larger pieces of the past. She wondered briefly how long it would be before he forgot even her. She shook herself mentally pushing that thought aside.
Even if he did forget her, she would stay by his side. Maybe her being there would help remember in time and prehaps snap him back to the way he was before the incident that messed his mind up so much.
She came back to reality and found her trainer looking at her with an worried expression. She climbed out of his jacket and gave a friendly smile to him.
"Don't worry. I'm okay. Just rest up so we can go back, okay?" she said. Her trainer nodded at her and then laid back on the platform. Yoshiko walked towards the edge of the platform and sat a little ways from the water. She looked back at the gym glad that the walk to the gym cooled Snow off and prevented what would've been a disaster. She sighed softly and looked back at her trainer. He was sleeping. She went back to him and sat down by his side keeping watch until he decided to wake up and start traveling again. She would proteckt him no matter what.
